One communications family
Velvet Direct is the dedicated Walkie-first experience. Velvet Line retains Android carrier-phone functions such as keypad, calls and voicemail, while its Direct section uses the same core communications presentation.
A more consistent path to a session
The October 9 update addresses cases where phonebook, keypad, incoming alerts or reconnecting sessions could open an older Walkie screen. Optional versions of Direct and Line now route compatible entry points toward the canonical Walkie experience; users can retain a prior client until they choose to update.
What still must be tested
Two-way audible speech, peer notifications, handset permissions, Bluetooth and carrier-call continuity still require exact physical-device and cross-platform verification. A passing website or simulated test is not the same as a finished communications release.
Current status. Public development builds available as optional GGIRL App Store updates. General launch readiness, full two-device audio acceptance and phone-ownership verification remain open.
